A Big Thank You, and a little note on Instagram Posts
One week of Sir Cluck in the books!
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who interacted, subscribed, liked and even glanced at Sir Cluck this past week. You all have been so kind and sweet with your messages and your support means so much to me. Honestly I’m overwhelmed at how many of you there are out there already with your eyes on this little comic strip. I went into this week reminding myself that Sir Cluck has always been a marathon and not a sprint, but we’re only one week in and I for one am fully out of breath. So the biggest heartfelt thank you from me to all of you.
I’ve learned more about online posting and the world of the internet this week than any reasonable person should ever know, but it’s been instructive! One thing that I’ve realized will likely be in flux over the next few weeks is the strip’s formatting over on Instagram while I tweak and clarify how best to present Sir Cluck there. As of now, I’ve been cropping each panel to be individually centered as you swipe. If you’re casually swiping, you might not even notice the discontinuation this creates across the panels. But this format essentially eliminates the possibility of experiencing the strip as a whole. (On Substack, Patreon, and the website, however, the strips are formatted without issue.)
My plan going forwards is in two parts: First, I’ll be attempting to remedy the way I present future strips on Instagram to hopefully create a less staccato reading experience. While I troubleshoot, though, I think on Sundays I’ll fold a full-page post into my schedule, so that Instagram users can also get the full experience without interruption.
That’s all for this note. Thanks again everyone!
